Project HOME – The Gloria Casarez Residence
The mission of the Project HOME community is to empower adults, children, and families to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, to alleviate the underlying causes of poverty, and to enable all of us to attain our fullest potential as individuals and as members of the broader society. We strive to create a safe and respectful environment where we support each other in our struggles for self-esteem, recovery, and the confidence to move toward self-actualization.
The Gloria Casarez Residence was the sixth project of the Middleton Partnership, which includes 30 one-bedroom units of affordable housing targeted to young adults (age 18-23 at entry) who are homeless, have experienced homelessness, or are at risk of homelessness (including those aging out of foster care), and will be LBGTQ-friendly. Residents benefit from a combination of housing, employment, education, and healthcare-related services, in addition to case management, life skills, and community-building activities.
